Notre avis :
The notion of time is still very approximative in Renaissance times. So that Emilien Mohsen’s study appears as fundamental to understand Edmund Spencer’s complex poetry. Taking into account philosophical, historical, literary and technical aspects of the poet’s influences, he opposes the notion of heroic time to the consuming one in its apocalyptic but also regenerative and cyclic aspects. A very well handled work.
